The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
May I bring the good news to the poor and bind up the brokenhearted. May I bestow on them the knowledge that You love them and see them as a vision of beauty. May I bring words of hope and joy to erase the despair and mourning. This world is just so stinking hard. Peoples lives are in fractures. You have given me a shady spot in which to sit- to be and to hope. Please bring people into my day today who need their wounds bound. May I be the light, ever so faint, to drive away the darkness.
This is my prayer. I praise You for all you have done. May I simply tell the world all the good You are, LORD Jesus.
