What Jesus Leaving Means

It means hope, a promise, and a return.

It is about forty days after Easter.  According to the Bible, Jesus walked this Earth for forty days after His resurrection.  Then, He returned to heaven.  Before He left, Jesus promised the coming of the Holy Spirit.  Here is what Acts 1:10-11 says about Jesus’ return to heaven.

After (Jesus) said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.  “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Jesus floats upward.  A cloud covers Him and He is gone.  His followers had no idea what had just happened when out of the blue, two men clothed in white (angels) are standing with them.  These two angels say some of the most hopeful words in the Bible.

“This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Jesus is coming back.  He is coming back from Heaven  to get me.  This will be my favorite moment of my life.  I cannot wait.  After that, I will have my forever favorite moment. I will be in heaven.  Finally.  Finally, I have will be in the presence of the One who made me. How do I know?  The Bible promises that those who cry out for help from God, will be saved.   The Bible, also, says that if we cling to God, He will not let us go.  The Bible is God’s words of truth to us.  He holds true to His word.

One time I had a dream. I was on a road that I drive almost everyday.  It was sunny.  Then, Jesus was huge in the sky.  He said my name.  He said, “Janelle” over and over and something deep inside of me felt whole and bursting.  He said, “Let’s go.”  As I floated towards Him, I said over and over, “Jesus, Jesus.” I woke up longing for that moment to be true. I have no idea what this dream means, nor do I have to know.  What I do know is Jesus is coming back for me.

He is coming back for you.

Do not listen to the voice that says that you are not worth Him calling your name.  Do not listen to the voice that says that you blew it too bad for Jesus to call your name.  He loves you so stinking much.  He wants to bring as many people back to Heaven.  It is why He risked it all to come save us.

Have you ever asked Jesus to save you and be near you always?  If not, you literally just have say those words.  Nothing eloquent.  You are simply giving up control to the God who made you.  He will hear your cry and He will move heaven and earth to reach down and save you.  You can read here to see how I prayed.  I have never been the same after that.
